DIY Hair Mask; Soft, Shiny and Dandruff free Hair

Dear Reader,

In these months my hair often gets dry and damaged by the cold weather. By the dryness and the cold, I also get more dandruff. But let it be the case that I have a solution! I often make my own hair masks, because then there aren’t any chemicals in it I know nothing about. Also I find that natural hair masks work better that the ones I buy in shops. So, a perfect hair mask for soft, shiny and dandruff free hair, here you go!

  • Coffee grounds
  • Coconut butter (or an other oil)

So there are only two ingredients, which are both natural and really good for both your skin and hair. The oils in coffee grounds are hydrating and give you hair a nice glow. Coconut oil is really good for your hair too, it makes it strong again and adds a nice shine. The coffee grounds reduces dandruff, which appears because the scalp is really dry. By feeding the scalp, and ‘scrubbing’ off the dandruff, the production of dandruff will lessen and you’ll have a nice, dandruff free scalp with healthy shiny hair. So let’s start with the instructions.

So first you’re going to make yourself a good cup of coffee and then put the coffee grounds in a small bowl.

Then you’re going to take two teaspoons of coconut oil and put it in the bowl together with the coffee grounds. As you can see above in the picture, the coconut oil is solid, to make it fluid, you’re going to put it in the micro wave for about twenty seconds. Then mix the two ingredients together and your done!

So one thing you need to know is that the grounds are going to get everywhere in the shower, so that’s why I do this in the bathtub while taking a bath. You can easily wash it all away afterwards. So I just usually take a bath, and wet my hair. Then you’re going to take the mix and gently scrub it onto your scalp. When you’re done with that, put some in your ends as well. Than take a hair tie and put your hair in a bun if you have long hair. Let it sit for ten minutes or so. In the mean time listen to some music and drink some coffee ;). Oh and if you have some of the mix left, use it as a scrub! It gives your skin a nice glory look!

Okay so after the ten minutes, go ahead and wash it all out! Then just wash your hair as usual, you may need a little extra shampoo, otherwise your hair may look a little greasy. And then you’re done! Now enjoy your shiny hair!

Let me know if it helped you and what you think! Thanks for reading <3.

Love always, L.G.
