Laura’s Cookbook: Wentelteefjes!

Dear Reader,

Finally, here I am again… So I’ve been on vacation, and had a crazy fun time! School has started again, and that’s fine, actually. I am starting a new category on my blog; Laura’s Cookbook. I’ll write blogposts about how to bake, kook and make certain foods and dishes! So this week I’ve made Wentelteefjes, it’s a Dutch food that you can compare to pancakes. We mostly eet in in the morning, and I like to make this on Saturday mornings for both me and my family. It’s a very simple recipe and also quickly made, I love it! It’s on my ‘almost favorite food’ list.

Ingredients: 4 persons.

  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Cinnamon
  • (Old) bread slices
  • Sugar
  • Butter

Other things you’ll need:

  • A frying pan
  • A spatula
  • A hand mixer
  • A bowl
  • A deep plate

So let’s begin!

first off, put the eggs in a little bowl.
then add the milk.
mix mix mix! until the egg is all smooth.
now it’s time to add the cinnamon. I never measure this, but I would say, add one teaspoon.
then mix it all up again and you’re ready with the mixing.
put one or two slices bread in a deep (soupe) plate.

poor some of the mix over the slices until they’re well soaked.

leave the bread while you warm up a pan and put some butter in it until it had fully melted.

now put in the well “soaked” pieces of bread and bake them a nice golden brown. flip them over a few times.

they should look like this, and then they’re ready!

put them on a plate and add suger. Now it’s time to eat! nom nom nom…

This was my vers first post of an ingredient! Let me know what you think about it! And also if you’ve made it, please send me a picture of it on my Instagram account (Klick here) I’ll be thrilled to see it!

Thank you for reading,

Love, Laura Grace
